Sixth grade students participate in Harry Potter themed unit

Sixth graders at Dunbar Middle School are participating in a unit about "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone". The classrooms have been transformed into a mini-Hogwarts, and students were sorted into four houses (based on the novel).

In addition to a fun and interactive experience, the classes are achieving several ELA content standards including comprehension and analyzation of chapter review questions, vocabulary acquisition, sequencing, point-of-view activities, figurative language analysis, comparing and contrasting, character analysis using "Chocolate Frog Cards," and writing activities.
