Overbrook Elementary Raises $12,000 for the American Heart Association!

Overbrook Elementary participated in the American Heart Association's Kid's Heart Challenge and raised over $12,000! In addition to raising money, students got moving with fun activities, learned about keeping their hearts and brains healthy, and felt great while helping others.

In 2020 Overbrook Elementary raised $5,000 for the American Heart Association. Since the school was unable to participate in the challenge last year, they wanted to double their 2020 goal and aimed for $10,000. Students went above and beyond to surpass the goal amount!

As a reward for meeting their fundraising goal, students were treated to a lip-sync battle between current principal Katie Herscher, PE teacher Brooke Bias and former principal Jerry Comer. They performed renditions of "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Love is an Open Door". The kids loved it!

After the battle was over, everyone headed outside for slime. Students who raised the most money got the opportunity to pour slime on Ms. Bias and Wendy Bradley from the American Heart Association.
