Holz Elementary Project Based Learning West Virginia Day
Holz Elementary held a project-based learning day all about West Virginia! Each grade level was responsible for creating projects that detailed famous West Virginians, state symbols, the road to statehood, state parks, and other Appalachian offerings.
Students rotated through each classroom to learn from other grades. They also had pepperoni rolls for lunch!
The grade level projects were:

Kindergarten - Salt maps of WV and State Symbol Art
- First Grade - Quilts and the Legend of John Henry
- Second Grade - Picture collage of state symbols, narrative writing, book reports and interactive booklets
- Third Grade - State Parks and Tourism Activity
- Fourth Grade - Famous West Virginians
- Fifth Grade - West Virginia's Road to Statehood
